Very pleased with colour, cut, service and price at Arcana. Find all the staff professional and helpful. Have been going for a year and won't be changing any time soon.
Sorry to say, but it was my first and last visit to this salon. The appointment was pretty much on time, but whilst waiting, I didnt get offered a tea or coffee, like everyone else. I got my hair shampooed and sat down for a hair cut. After a brief conversation it turned out, that I was booked for a restyle, but I wanted more of a shape&trim job - my impression was that it made the hairdresser, Toni, slightly unhappy/ annoyed and she suggested layers, which I wore in the past, so I agreed. After the hair was cut it was time for a blow dry, but the tools used were clearly old/ close to failing - the hairdryer was blowing very hot air, like it was about to overheat and pack up - this made my hair frizzy and puffy. Then the hairdresser started to straighten my hair, but didnt notice for the first few strokes that it wasnt switched on. It looked satisfactory at the salon, when it was styled and smoothed over with some hair oil, but it became apparent after a first wash at home, that I had a bad haircut. The front part of my hair now has to hide behind my ear as it looks like it was chopped in straight lines without any blending to the layers and the bottom is also uneven. The hair doesnt flow or move as promised and Im now having to either wait for it to grow out or have it even shorter and pay for a fix elsewhere.Two stars as it looked okay for a day, other than that - probably one of the worst haircuts I had in the last decade.
Glad its getting a bit of a makeover, it needed it. Would have been nice to know that the online booking system had changed. No thought to let the clients know??
This morning was my first visit to Arcana and it won't be my last. I have my hair a very vivid red and have been disappointed for the last 10 plus years that after I've had it done at various top salons, I always have to go home and re-dye it myself with a shop bought red to get it as bright as I like. Most salons now force you to pay for a blow dry...whether you want it or not. This really cheesed me off as I always went home and immediately washed and re-dyed it. Arcana provide a complementary blow dry which I would have happily paid for! It truly is the first time I've been happy that I've gotten the hair colour I actually wanted! Massive thanks to Katie who did a fantastic job!!
The staff at Arcana have been amazing! I trusted them to cut two of my daughter's hair from very long to very short, so that they could donate it to The Little Princess Trust who make wigs for children affected by cancer. Arcana could not have been more helpful, and the girls look beautiful with their new short hair! Thank you ladies!
